Day Cemetery is the original homeplace of William Byrd Day and his family. The property was donated by the family in 1863. In 1974, a Cemetery Board was established, and in 1985 the Day Cemetery was incorporated for the purpose of establishing the cemetery as a Perpetual Care Cemetery
